Pip Calculator
Value of the move
250000.00
How to use it
- 1Select the number of lots you intend to trade.
- 2Enter the pip movement you want to value.
- 3Enter the pip value per standard lot for your pair and account currency.
- 4The result shows the total cash value of that movement.
Formula
Value = Pips × Lots × Pip value per standard lot
Worked example
A 20-pip move on 0.5 standard lots, where one pip is worth $10 per standard lot, equals 20 × 0.5 × 10 = $100.
Why it matters
Pip value depends on the quote currency of the pair and your account currency. For pairs quoted in US dollars with a USD account, one pip on a standard lot is conventionally $10.
When the quote currency differs from your account currency, the result must be converted at the prevailing exchange rate.

Frequently asked questions
Why does pip value change between pairs?
Because pip value is denominated in the quote currency, which then has to be converted into your account currency.
